The nursery is set up on land that has been disinfected with Methyl Bromide, in accordance with the Montreal Accord, in order to guarantee optimum plant sanitation conditions. Natural soil conditions have contributed to a very efficient use of this product, as can be seen from the excellent results obtained.
| • | Irrigation is done in a technically accepted way in order to encourage the vegetative growth under optimum water conditions. |
| • | The plants are fertilized according to specific requirements. |
| • | Blight and disease patterns are managed under conditions of strict control. The geographical location of our country and of our farm specifically, facilitates this work, offering excellent results with a minimal use of pesticides. |
| • | Plants are harvested once they enter into their period of latency. |
| • | The plants are then washed and disinfected for selection and packaging. |
| • | The plants are taken to cold storage facilities and maintained at a temperature of 2ºC. |
| • | Finally, the labor force has been specially trained for each of the stages in this activity. |
